Awwwwwww my heart!!!!! I’m glad to hear that all the lovely pics and positivity in the tag have helped you, my friend!!! It’s wayyyyy too easy to go to that tag for self harm and it’s nice to know that the #CareBearStare is doing its job. 

But to be fair, I cannot take all the credit for this, or even any real significant chunk of credit IMO. All I did was promote/boost the concept, create the CBS tag (& conceptual framing) as another unifying force, add pics of my sweet fur babies to the mix, and create/run my @carebearsnotdiscourse blog (which I’m still not as active on as I’d like to be). 

Honestly, although not positive, I’m pretty sure the ground zero blog for this was @catsnotdiscourse. Does anyone know for sure?!? That blog and others like it like @hedgehognotdiscourse, @doggomemesnotdiscourse, @doggosnotdiscourse, @bunsnotdiscourse, @ewoksnotdiscourse, etc etc are the ones that really deserve the thanks bc they rock and are the driving forces for this movement of love and community. 

These blogs have saved me from so much self-harm in the ace discourse tag and bc of them, I was just so grateful & hopeful (of their potential) that I was inspired to promote it as a full-on movement bringing together these individual blogs, inviting new ones & those not even devoted to “__notdiscourse” to contribute, to ultimately increase the output of positivity. 

Anywho, full disclosure - It’s super early and I’m super duper foggy, so I apologize if this makes no sense. I just really want to ensure that credit goes where it’s due. 

I’m so grateful to the original blogs and without them, it’s very very VERY likely there’d be no #CareBearStare. So, with that in mind, this care bear stare’s in their honour 💜🌈⭐️

And I think so too. Unfortunately, @catsnotdiscourse never comments when I post stuff like this and mention them in it. Apparently they’re either a bit bashful or perhaps even more likely, they’re very steadfast on the “not discourse” rule of the blog. Either way, it’s totally fine, I just want them to know they’re awesome and doing phenomenal work 💜

I always knew the care bear stare was a powerful thing, but employing it as a way to promote more love and community in “”””discourse”””” tags (that can wear very deeply on people emotionally and has even led some ppl to acts of self-harm), was the right thing to do. 

I mean I’m definitely not the first person to make a blog like this, obviously, and I owe those original blogs SO MUCH for having been there for me & others (and still being there, afaik?), and for inspiring this blog into existence too quite frankly. 

I guess just kinda love how nicely this entire cyber-movement seems to fit into the whole notion of the #CareBareStare. It’s just kinda….. perfect, y’know?? And it’s such a great opportunity to bring the care bears back into our lives 🌸🌈💜⭐️
