It’s really empowering that you’re 33 and openly questioning tour sexuality and ended identity. Like almost every other adult on here is like “I knew when I was ten” or whatever and that’s not bad it’s perfectly fine but the fact that you’re not ashamed shows other people that it’s okay to change and question your gender identity.
Aww thanks so much for this, Anon, you’re so sweet! I’m really glad to hear that my questioning of my gender and sexuality is encouraging and empowering for you (and hopefully to others, too!).
I’ve definitely struggled all my life with gender and sexuality, so I knew something was “wrong” and that I was constantly performing rather than “being”. It was only after coming to Tumblr that I realize that my feelings are & have always been valid, I’m not the only one, and I do have a right and a duty to myself to question these things.
Tumblr may have many many MANY faults, but many of its amazing users have helped me to finally realize that it’s time for me to put in the effort of figuring out who “I” am as a human being, instead of as a marginalized cog in the peri-cis-patriarchal-heteronormative world in which we live.
So ty Tumblr friends, you rock!! <3

Your timing for this message was pretty great too bc my appointment with my doctor didn’t go so well (condescending/wouldn’t help me/didn’t seem to believe me) and I’m super pooped beyond reason bc of all the running around (some b-day shopping/picking up meds/seeing doc). You know when I sleep I have this problem where I HAVE to have my hair pulled back. I have woken up in the middle of the night because my bun or pony tail was too loose. For some reason I find it SO uncomfortable to sleep with it down, it must be a sensory thing but I'm not sure why it's there, I mean my hair will also turn into a big knot if I don't maybe I'm subconsciously paranoid IDEK why I HAVE to do it, but...we all have our quirks, you're not at all strange <3
Aww ty for sending this, I am a fan of “weird” but “strange” definitely has bad connotations. Although, perhaps I’ve just subconsciously reclaimed that word bc it was used against me so much growing up lol!!
I totally get it though, and it possibly is sensory if it’s waking you up. But that’s for you to decide, Anon :) Some of us are just more sensitive than others, autistic or allistic. At least, that’s the impression I’m getting??
